Capturing the opportunity for Israeli Technology in Africa
Israeli companies are invited to submit applications for financial support
for projects involving product adaptation to African Markets
Following the Israeli Cabinet's approval of a dedicated strategic plan to strengthen economic ties and cooperation with African countries, and in recognizing the increasing importance and vast potential Africa constitutes for Israel and Israeli companies, the Israeli Innovation Authority launched a new product adaptation track for Africa, dedicated to providing funding support for projects focused on the adaptation and customization of an Israeli company’s product to the markets in Africa.
REQUIREMENTS & CRITERIA
The program includes but not limited to:
Adaptation of product in consideration of local cultural considerations
Adaptation to local conditions, such as climate, infrastructure etc.
Regulatory considerations, particularly for foods and drugs
Reduction of price to customer by the utilization of local components
Reduction of price to customer by downgrading performance

2) An Israeli company interested in the Africa Product Adaptation Program, can directly apply for funding, at any time, to the Israel Innovation Authority R&D fund.
It is recommended, though not mandatory, for an Israeli company to be working in collaboration with an African Company as a partner or subcontractor.
4) Before applying, please contact the program manager listed below.
Funding will be provided in the form of a conditional grant to the projects selected under the Call for Proposals.
The total funding from the Israel Innovation Authority will not exceed 50% of the eligible and approved costs in accordance with the national laws and regulations.

When a project results in sales of a product, service or process, the financial support must be
repaid to the Israel Innovation Authority according to its regulations (in general, royalties are paid at rates beginning at 3% of sales, depending on various criteria.
Royalties are payable until 100% of the amount of the grant has been repaid with interest as provided in the applicable regulations). If the project does not result in sales, no repayment is required
