Israeli Business Delegation to the GITA Platform 2013, India

A delegation of 7 Israeli companies attended  The Global Innovation and Technology Alliance Platform  Conference and Partnering event in Delhi, India this November. 

The delegation was organized by MATIMOP in the framework of the Israel-India Initiative for Research and Development (i4RD) - a bilateral program providing financial support for collaborative industrial R&D ventures between Israeli and Indian companies. 

The Israeli delegates represented a range of business backgrounds, from water technology to homeland security, from food production to large scale energy storage systems. Israeli company delegates met with Indian companies in pre-scheduled and on-the-spot B2B meetings to explore opportunities for collaboration.

The delegation was led by the director of the Asia-Pacific division at MATIMOP; Mr. Avi Luvton. Ms. Hadas Kroitoru - Program Manager for Israel-India Cooperation at MATIMOP and  Ms. Shoshi Caspi - Events Manager, also participated in the delegation. Mr. Yoni Ben Zakan, Commercial Attache at the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, and Mr. Vinod Mehta, Senior Trade Officer joined in delegation activities and assisted in setting up B2B meetings.

At The Global Innovation and Technology Alliance Platform event, MATIMOP sponsored an exhibition booth focused on Israeli Innovation, featuring posters of each participating company. In addition, delegates attended a high level networking dinner on Nov. 13, 2013 organized by MATIMOP and the Israeli Embassy in India. The dinner was attended by the Israeli Ambassador to India, H.E. Alon Alon Ushpiz, along with Indian officials from the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (DST) and GITA, as well as Indian company representatives.



The Global Innovation and Technology Alliance Platform is the annual flagship event of GITA, focusing on shaping India's global partnerships in science, technology and innovation. The conference brought together global technology providers, investors, Indian industry, entrepreneurs & innovators, scientists, academics, senior government representatives etc., to discuss and deliberate over business issues and also to explore opportunities for collaboration. Spanning over two days, the event included an exhibition and industry-focused sessions, R&D policy discussions, B2B meetings and networking lunches/dinners. Business Delegations from around the world attended the event, including delegations from Canada, Finland, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK and more.
