Israel HLS 2014 Innovation Award
The Office of the Chief Scientist, the Israel Export Institute and MATIMOP - The Israeli Industry Center for R&D announce the HLS & Cyber Innovation Competition
November 9-11, Hall 1, The Israel Trade Fairs Center, Tel Aviv
MATIMOP - The Israeli Industry Center for R&D and the Israel Export Institute will hold an HLS and cyber innovation competition during Israel HLS 2014. We invite Israeli companies in the HLS and cyber fields to participate in the competition. The competition aims to encourage Israeli innovation and exports in the HLS and cyber field.
Criteria by which companies will be judged:
creativity and technological innovation
(robustness, performance, quality of business approach)
Impact and potential
The competition is open to Israeli companies whose R&D center is in Israel and whose revenue from sales in 2013 was no higher than $4 million.
The ten companies reaching the final stages of the competition will make a presentation before a panel of judges during the conference, which will include their technology/product.
The panel of judges consists of international senior industry and government figures, venture capitalists and academics.
Two winners will be announced on November 11.
The first-prize winner will receive:
1. $3,000 towards participation in a conference in the company’s field
2. Membership in Category 1 for one year in the Israel Export Institute
3. Participation in the renowned Merage Institute program in Irvine California
The second-prize winner will receive:
1. Membership in Category 1 for one year in the Israel Export Institute
2. Participation in the renowned Merage Institute program in Irvine California
About the Conference
The Israel HLS 2014 conference is convened by The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, MATIMOP - The Israeli
Industry Center for R&D, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defense and the Israeli Police.
The conference will include lectures, seminars and panel discussions, and an exhibition showcasing some of the finest field-proven and next-generation technologies and systems in the industry, including a start-up area and an Innovation Award. In addition, there will be lots of opportunities to greet colleagues and create new business relationships through formal and informal meetings.

should be attended by all public decision makers, security professionals and HLS industry managers with an interest in:
Critical infrastructure protection, including oil and gas
Emergency preparedness and management, functional continuity and urban resilience
Intelligence, counter terror and law enforcement
Our previous HLS conference, held in 2012, attracted more than 800 security officials from around the world, including public security ministers, senior government and municipal officials, emergency response and port authorities, police commanders and HLS industry managers. They heard and met with security experts and industry leaders discussing today’s challenges in the light of growing global terror, criminal activity, threats to public order and natural disasters.
