MATIMOP and the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of Israel along with ANII, the National Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay are pleased to announce a new call for proposals within the framework of the bilateral Industrial R&D agreement between Uruguay and Israel. The objective of this program is to provide support for collaborative Research and Development ventures between Uruguayan and Israeli companies.
At least one technology- based registered company from each one of the respective countries shall have to state the basis of cooperation in the research and development of an innovative product, process or service. The project may involve more than one company from each country;
Academic and research institutions are eligible in order to participate only as collaborators in the Project.
The product/ process/ service have to be considered as highly innovative in the local market of both countries with significant commercial potential in the global market.
The issues related to IP rights and the commercialization strategy of the product/ process or service shall have to be agreed upon in advance.
The project shall have to prove the contribution of the participants from both countries (business as well as research groups, if any).
The projects shall not be focused on the acquisition of turnkey state-of-the- art technology.
Funding support by the Uruguayan government for Uruguayan companies shall be given through the ANII. The maximum funding amount for the project shall be up to 50% of R+D activities or activities related thereof, with a maximum of U$S 400.000 (U.S. dollars).
The total funding from the Government of Israel via the OCS, under the Uruguay-Israel Industrial R&D program financial support, will not exceed 50% of the eligible and approved costs of the R&D, in accordance with the national laws and regulations.

Phase 1: Due 31/07/2014 at 12:00
A Letter of Intent, Preliminary Agreement, or draft MOU between the participants from both countries is required. If the proposal is approved the final agreement has to be presented to the funding authorities.
MATIMOP and ANII will pre-screen the applications and recommend which of the applicants will be invited to submit funding application.
Phase 2: 31/08/2014
Proposals meeting all eligibility criteria for which the Phase 1 pre-screening resulted with a positive recommendation will be invited to submit the complete funding application using the procedures, and according to the rules, applied by ANNI in Uruguay and by OCS in 30 days.
Submission of Profiles:
Prior to the submission of a project the companies shall have to deliver a profile where the idea of the project, its main actors and the justification of the request in the framework of the objectives of the cooperation program are submitted.
Submission of final projects:
Once the profile has been approved, the company shall be able to submit the final project. Once the approval of the profile has been notified to the company, it shall have to submit the project within 30 calendar days.
