A Catalonian delegation of ICT companies and funding agency representatives is in Israel for a week-long visit.
November 28, 2011 – Tel Aviv, Israel – A delegation of seven companies in the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) sector, along with official R&D funding representatives from the Catalonia region of Spain, will visit Israel this week to explore opportunities for collaboration in technological R&D. During the delegation’s week-long visit (Nov. 28-Dec 2), a cooperation agreement will be signed between MATIMOP – the Israel Industry Center for R&D, and its Catalonian counterpart, ACC1Ó. Aimed at increasing technological R&D cooperation between the two regions, the agreement will establish a bilateral funding framework for joint R&D projects between Israeli and Catalonian companies in all industrial sectors. Funding will be provided by the Spanish government and Israel’s Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor.
During the visit, the Catalonian delegation of companies - led by the technological R&D department of ACC1Ó - will participate in approximately 20 B2B meetings with Israeli companies in the ICT sector to discuss opportunities for collaboration. Meetings are being supported by the Enterprise Europe Network - Israel, MATIMOP’s leading platform for partner matching. The Catalonian companies participating include: Password Bank, Mediapro, Music Tech Group (UPF), Coherent Syncro, Cromlec, i2cat and Hydromodel Host. Following the signing of the new agreement with Catalonia, several sector-focused Calls for Proposals will be announced, in addition to joint conferences and exhibitions.
