On January 24th, 2012, more than 400 guests, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chinese Ambassador Gao Yanping, gathered to celebrate Israel and China’s cooperation in the political, economic and social arenas, all achieved since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 20 years ago. Guests expressed their strong desire to enhance the relations between China and Israel and their hope for a better future for Sino-Israel relations. Chinese Ambassador Gao Yanping hosted the reception celebrating the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Chinese Spring Festival in Tel Aviv last month. Representatives from the Office of the Chief Scientist and MATIMOP also participated in the event.
Ambassador Gao Yanping addressed the audience, noting that the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties is not only an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations between China and Israel, but also a new starting point. In the last 20 years, political relations between two countries have matured, economic and trade relations have improved steadily, pragmatic cooperation has boomed rapidly, and friendship between the two peoples has deepened. Ambassador Gao remarked that the development has resulted in tangible benefits to both peoples.
Prime Minister Netanyahu extended warm congratulations for the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He discussed the mutually beneficial nature of bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing that cooperation in various fields such as agriculture, medicine, communication, and water technology effectively enhanced the countries’ competitiveness. PM Netanyahu remarked that Israel would seize the opportunity to further deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields and to promote bilateral relations.
