DIAMED-ISRAEL LTD. is an Israeli R&D and local manufacturing facility of DiaMed AG, Switzerland.
DiaMed was founded at the end of 1977 by a small group of experts in laboratory diagnostics, for the development and manufacture of test systems aimed at providing laboratories with ease of use, safety and reliability.
During the first years, DiaMed was able to introduce novelties such as liquid and stable enzyme reagents, the first additive LISS reagents, coagulation reagents in liquid, ready to use form, as well as the famous DiaCent Cellwashers.
The big breakthrough came in 1988, when DiaMed introduced, to the professionals of blood transfusion, the DiaMed-ID Micro Typing System, the gel test that revolutionised the work in blood group serology laboratories. Today, DiaMed is the leading company in blood group serology, with over a million tests performed daily, world wide, with the ID-System.
DiaMed invests over 10 % of its sales into Research and Development, for new exciting diagnostic systems, as well as for automated instruments.
DiaMed also invests in seminars and symposiums for scientists as well as providing continuous education for personnel involved in Transfusion Science and Medicine, by workshops, held at its headquarters and by local distributors.
