Global Biotech Company "Life Technologies" Seeks Cooperation with Israeli Industry

Life Technologies (NASDAQ: LIFE) and the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) in the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor have announced plans to cooperate to create partnerships between the company’s Research & Development arm and Israeli industry, in the framework of the OCS' Global Enterprise R&D Collaboration Program.

As part of its business strategy, Life Technologies is actively looking for innovative technologies, products and companies in the biotech, medical devices, Agro-Bio, Synthetic-Bio (production of organic cells out of artificial materials), IT, electronics, optics, and semiconductor industries.
For its part, the OCS will facilitate making the business connections and provide assistance in navigating around regulatory issues and financing if a relationship between an Israeli company and Life Technologies emerges. The OCS policy will be to match Life Technologies investment with up to 50% funding. The agreement was signed by Dr. Alan Sachs, Life Technologies’ Head of Global Science & Innovation, and Mr. Avi Hasson, Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor of Israel. Twenty-three global corporations have already signed a collaborative agreement and according to the OCS, in recent years the corporate collaboration programs have become an alternative for many corporations to carry out joint projects with innovative Israeli companies.
