The Massachusetts-Israel Innovation Program (MIIP):

New Call for Proposals in Medical and Health Technologies

Phase I Deadline: October 1 at 10:00 AM

Overview:

MATIMOP and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) are pleased to announce a call for proposal for bilateral industrial R&D projects under the International Collaborative Industry Program (ICIP) Round II.

The purpose of this initiative is to promote health-related innovations, stimulate R&D, and foster breakthroughs that lead to commercialization and economic development. The industry fields are biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics and bioinformatics.

Joint Projects between Israeli and Massachusetts companies in the ICIP Program are funded in Israel by the Office of the Chief Scientist of Israel's Ministry of Economy (OCS) and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, a quasi-public agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Process:

One Israeli company and one Massachusetts Company will submit a joint application for an R&D project. Projects that exemplify synergy between companies and demonstrate equitable risk sharing between companies will be looked upon favorably. Partnerships that generate new jobs and revenue for Massachusetts have a higher chance of successful approval. The MLSC guidelines are provided in the links below.

Companies that are awarded grants will be funded by both the MLSC and the OCS respectively according to the applicable laws and procedures of each organization.

The ICIP has a total budget of $2 million with matching grants starting at $75,000 up to a maximum of $400,000 per project. A approved project will receive up to 50% of the eligible R&D costs from the OCS.

Partner Matching:

MATIMOP provides assistance and partner-matching services between Israeli companies and foreign companies. Our goal is synergistic and strategic collaborations.

MATIMOP has an extensive list of international contacts through its public online database. Please complete the partner interest form and send it to Liron@matimop.org.il in order to find the most suitable partner for your company. Companies can also find partners individually.
