On March 26, 2012, MATIMOP hosted a delegation from Russia to discuss the topic of Russian-Israeli Cooperation in Nanotechnology. The event was held as a satellite event of the NanoIsrael 2012 Conference and was hosted by RUSNANO – The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies, and MATIMOP – The Israeli Industry Center for R&D.
During the event, which was attended by Israeli companies and representatives of industry, RUSNANO and MATIMOP pre-announced the coming Call for Proposals for Joint R&D projects, which will officially open toward the end of the 2nd Quarter of 2012. This platform will offer financial support for Israeli and Russian industrial entities seeking to cooperate in joint R&D projects that are relatively close to market and focus on industrial applications in the field of nanotechnology or any other area of mutual interest.
Presentations were given by RUSNANO and MATIMOP, followed by a panel discussion that included visiting Russian companies and an Israeli representative of industry – all of whom spoke about trends in the nanotechnology industry and interests for Israeli-Russian collaboration.
More details on the funding opportunities for Russian-Israeli Joint R&D projects will be coming soon.
