DOROT's experienced Research & Development Department has a long
tradition of generating innovative solutions for the application
of water control systems.
DOROT's expertise in the field of water control technology
encompasses waterworks distribution networks, sewage and effluent
disposal, fire protection and irrigation systems, in addition to
civil engineering.
DOROT's commitment to excellence begins with using the highest
quality materials. The company's engineering experts are
constantly working to provide customers with a broad range of
valve patterns and sizes in a wide variety of metals and grades,
including: Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Cast Steel, Stainless Steel,
Bronze, Marine Bronze, Polyamide and PVC.
The experts at DOROT custom-design each valve application
according to specific control requirements. All of the production
process, which includes, machining, coating and assembly, takes
place in modern in-house facilities, and are under constant
scrutinization by our quality assurance staff. Before leaving the
factory, each valve is hydraulically tested. An advanced testing
laboratory simulates the anticipated field conditions.
DOROT has designed and comissioned lately a water hammer
protection for a large water supply system in Spain.
Four units of 300mm valve, model 77-12-RE, were assembled in the
pump station, that provides 6500m3/h at 105m pressure to a 1000mm
diameter steel pipeline.
The system is located near Cordoba, and pumps the water of the
Guadalquivir river to a reservoir that will be the water source
to a new irrigation scheme.
The valves were designed to open instantly when power failure
stops all the operating pumps, relieve the returning flow and
then close at an adjustable speed.
