General undertakes Ferring's biotechnology development and
manufacturing.
Bio-Technology General was founded in 1980 as one of the first
biotechnology companies in Israel. In 1995 Ferring acquires
Bio-Technology General and transfers it into its R&D Center.
Speciality areas: Development and manufacture of recombinant
bacterial and mammalian cell based products for the
pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Products include
hGH, BIOLON and EUFLEXXA.
The new R&D center focuses on analytical development of
biopharmaceuticals, especially recombinants. The center has
laboratories and clinical trial facilities to support products
based on microbiological research and cell cultures. The R&D
center is a new wing to an existing production facility, enabling
collaboration between the company's research and production
staff.
