Overview

SHL-ALUBIN is the largest aluminium profile manufacturer in
Israel in the fields of construction and industry. Alubin, which
was founded in 1958, was purchased in 1998 by SHL, founded in
1973. Both companies function today as a merged entity, owned
solely by Arie Segal, founder of SHL. The enterprise, which
produces about a thousand tons of profiles per month, enjoys the
benefits of size and power of two experienced and sophisticated
factories. The whole process of production and finishing takes
place from start to finish under one roof.

The process starts with the casting of raw material and scrap
into billets in SHL. SHL-ALUBIN billets for its own use and for
other companies. The billets are then transferred to the
extruders, two of which are located in the Alubin site and one in
the SHL site. A fourth extruder is located now in Mexico, where
SHL-ALUBIN founded an extrusion and coating factory together with
a local glass company. In SHL we can also find the die factory,
which designs and produces the tools through which the aluminium
travels when it becomes profiles. SHL-ALUBIN currently produces
over 6,000 kinds of profiles. It produces over 50 dies a week for
new profiles and as back up for existing profiles.

In SHL-ALUBIN there is a painting and coating department
providing all coatings available for aluminium: two lines of
powder coating, an anodize line (first with the approval of the
Israeli Standard Institution) and also a PVDF line - best
quality, longest endurance, layered wet paint for aluminium
profiles and sheets.

SHL-ALUBIN's main concern is the future. The Company's R&D
department leads the area of aluminium profiles and lately also
magnesium profiles. Ideas for new products come from the R&D
department as well as from clients and people who co-develop new
items together with the factory: engineers, inventors and
architects.

Extrusion of profiles is a technology that can be harnessed to
produce great ideas in many fields: bikes made of magnesium, to
create the lightest, most competitive frames in the market, parts
for air-conditioning systems, signs, high-tech applications,
clean rooms, automobile industry and more, as imagination allows.

SHL-ALUBIN's task is to develop the best product suited for its
goal, balancing weight, effectiveness and durability in the best
investment to results ratio.
