TECHNOLOGIES LTD.; IMM (ISRAEL) LTD.; SophisView Technologies
Ltd.) offers a unique computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) system
that helps radiologists in detecting and analyzing breast cancers
in mammography images.
Based on proprietary algorithms that were developed using
hundreds of cases, CADVision utilizes computer visualization and
pattern recognition software to identify possible breast cancers
on mammography images.
CADVision's applications are a breakthrough in the field of
computerized mammography.
Using patented algorithms to detect patterns indicative of breast
cancer, CADVision's technology evaluates the underlying
structures in mammography images. CADVision's innovation is that
it accomplishes more than lesion detection.
CADVision's software classifies breast abnormalities and ranks
them according to their likelihood of malignancy. The ability to
turn detection into diagnostics by ranking the areas of interest
detected on a mammogram by probability of malignancy, is a
breakthrough in the field of CAD mammography.
This is important for both physicians and patients because as
evaluation becomes more exact, the number of unnecessary
procedures is greatly decreased. This is especially true for
biopsies.
The company has received the CE Mark (European regulatory
approval) for its software, and expects to receive FDA
certification (US regulatory approval) in mid-2003.
