Overview

NEUROGENIC has proven that schizophrenia is an autoimmune disease
against platelets.

NEUROGENIC's previous activities focused on the identification of
the platelet antigen and its antigenic epitope, which are
currently fully resolved. Serum antibodies against this specific
antigen were detected in the majority of schizophrenic patients
which constituted a blood test for schizophrenia, which is about
to be announced. The antigenic epitope is planned to be tested as
a specific T-cell suppressor, which could turn into a novel
therapeutic approach for schizophrenia.
