ceramic & glass science and technology. It was founded some 40
years ago, by the Israeli government, with aid from the UN. The
research effort is focused on advanced functional ceramics. It
regards development of new materials, improved processing routes
and a better understanding of composition-structure-properties
correlation. Located in the campus of the Technion, ICSI
researchers cooperate with various teams of Israel's premiere
technical university, as well as other research institutions
operating in Israel or abroad.
Areas of activities:
** Ceramic & Glass Research - Contract research funded by
industry, governmental organizations or international research
funds. The objectives of the research projects regard the
development of new materials, ceramic components with various
functionalities, or fabrication technologies.
** Toll Services - Covering production of custom made parts
(short series), execution of various technological operations,
materials and components characterization, trouble shooting,
general technological consulting, literature reviews, etc.
