Simulators. These `Simulators' incorporate actual lengths of
fiber together with other passive and active components. Each
Simulator is custom-designed to meet the customer's requirements.
A Simulator can have 10 km of fiber or it can have 10,000 km of
fiber.
Equipment manufacturers use OPCOM's Simulators as one component
of an automatic test system. They can be ordered with computer
control or with manual control. Simulators are also use by R&D
groups to test systems on actual lengths of fiber and to test
optical receiver sensitivity.
In addition to Network Simulators, OPCOM performs sub-contract
manufacturing of optical modules. OPCOM integrates optical,
optoelectronic and electrical components in accordance with the
customer's design. OPCOM manufactures board-level products and
can incorporate the boards into customer-designed enclosures.
All products are fully tested both optically and electrically for
compliance with the customer's requirements. Among the products
OPCOM manufactures are OADM's,. DWDM transponders and EDFA's.
OPCOM is also an approved agent/distributor for a number of
leading fiber optic manufacturers.
