Overview

MIRABEL MEDICAL SYSTEMS LTD. (formerly TRANSSCAN MEDICAL) is
developing innovative solutions for the non-invasive, accurate
and cost-effective detection of breast cancer, based on a
powerful and patented new technology, Electrical Impedance
Scanning (EIS).

The company's products aim to improve detection of breast cancer
and reduce healthcare costs. In addition to breast cancer
detection, the new technology can be applied to other clinical
applications.

Electrical Impedance Scanning (EIS) is a pioneering means for
breast cancer screening in young women. EIS, along with clinical
breast exam (CBE), can provide an effective tool for detecting
carcinoma in women under the recommended age for mammography,
before the disease becomes life threatening.

In 1999, an earlier version of the TS2000 underwent clinical
trials in the United States, Europe and Israel and received FDA
approval as an adjunct to mammography.

The T-Scan 2000ED answers the crucial need for effective
screening in young women. Its innovative technology, Electrical
Impedance Scanning (EIS) is based on the discovery that normal
and malignant breast tissues have different electrical
properties. The T-Scan 2000ED generates a low-level electric
signal that is transmitted into the body. The resulting electric
field is then measured by sensors in a non-invasive probe placed
on the breast. Measurements are made over several frequencies
using proprietary algorithms to create and display a real-time
electrical image of the breast along with immediate results.

A positive EIS finding does not necessarily indicate a woman has
breast cancer; rather that she may be at higher risk for breast
cancer and should be sent for further evaluation by ultrasound or
mammography.

The T-Scan 2000ED is currently undergoing clinical trials for
breast cancer detection in women below the recommended age for
screening mammography.

T-Scan proprietary technology can be adapted for use in other
clinical applications such as identification of malignant
melanoma.
