proprietary line of emulsifying devices that handle a wider
variety of substances, and reduce them to smaller homogenous
droplets and particles, than any other technology on the market
today. BEE was established in 1994, and developed its proprietary
products in Israels Technion Entrepreneurial Incubator Center. A
U.S. patent was approved in 1998, and worldwide patents since
have been filed.
BEE's patented products have the following three critical, unique
features:
* The ability to break down ("emulsify") fluids, in commercial
quantities, to uniform, homogeneous droplets which are
significantly smaller than those produced by any other
commercially available technology.
* The ability to emulsify extremely abrasive and/or viscous
materials, many of which currently cannot be accomplished by any
other commercially available emulsifying technology.
* The ability to retrofit existing equipment, to provide the
above features. (BEE also provides complete, stand-alone
production systems, where a retrofit is insufficient to satisfy
production requirements.)
These abilities enable BEE's products to appeal to three distinct
proven markets, with collectively well over a billion dollars in
annual sales.
The High-End Biotech/Pharmaceuticals Market: This market consists
of biotechnology and pharmaceutical applications, and is mainly
based upon the ability of BEE's equipment to emulsify to smaller
sizes than any existing commercially available process. Besides
the obvious advantages of superior size reduction per se, the
ability to consistently reduce particles to sub-micron dimensions
enables a truly unique application: sterilization by filtration.
The Low-End Industrial Blending Market: Industrial processes,
such as blending, milling and mixing applications, do not require
the high-performance size reduction features of BEE equipment. In
fact, this market comprised of low-pressure homogenizers, colloid
mills, media mills, and the like, generally only requires
reduction to between 1 and 5 microns.
The Chemical Processes Market: Manufacturers of processed or
recycled products often must reduce the materials being processed
to small, uniform droplets or particles. Until BEE, no existing
commercial emulsifying equipment has been capable of handling
extremely sticky, viscous melted polymers and resins.
Unlike any other commercial technology available today, BEE's
equipment can handle even extremely viscous melted polymers,
resins and similar substances thus obviating the need for
solvents and other toxic compounds. Polymer and resin processing
is only one example of the applications available in this market.
BEE's equipment can handle extremely abrasive materials also,
which likewise cannot be processed by any existing commercial
technology available today.
The core of BEE's technology is the patented Emulsifying Cell and
high-pressure pump. BEE designed all core technology parts, and
most are fabricated locally by subcontractors with standard
equipment, without the need for any special manufacturing
technology.
