Overview

PROCHON BIOTECH LTD. is a privately owned biotechnology company
founded in 1997 with the aim of finding a cure for
Achondroplasia, the most common form of short-limbed dwarfism.
The company has since evolved into a major player in the
discovery and development of innovative growth factor-based
therapies in regenerative medicine and orthopedics. PROCHON aims
to transform the clinical focus of orthopedics from traditional
metal implants, plates, and nails to biologically based products
or orthobiologics for tissue regeneration and repair.
PROCHON's therapeutic approach stems from its proprietary
know-how in growth factors, particularly Fibroblast Growth
Factors (FGF), their receptors and signaling networks (the FGF
System). These are key regulators of tissue growth, regeneration
and repair and are critically involved in human pathology.
PROCHON designs therapeutics that modulate the FGF system
focusing on treatments for bone and cartilage disorders.

Core Technologies: Interdisciplinary expertise has enabled
PROCHON to develop a versatile platform for generation of
proprietary modulators of the FGF system and for manipulation of
their specific target cells. These modulators include tailor-made
FGF variants as well as receptor specific antagonists, including
small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors and human recombinant
neutralizing antibodies. These are selected through
tissue-specific cell-based high throughput screening assays,
organ cultures and disease models.

Development Programs and Products:
Novel FGF formulations for bone fractures, bone loss and spine
fusion
Drug therapy for short-limbed dwarfism
2nd generation autologous cartilage implants, targeting large
market indications such as osteoarthritis, for the treatment of
acute and chronic joint lesions. The first generation cartilage
product, BioCart(TM), marketed through ProChon's wholly owned
subsidiary CTI, was approved and launched in Israel in 1998 and
in Europe in 2000.

Market & Business Opportunities:
Orthobiologics represent a multi-billion dollar market potential.
Prochon expects to expand market opportunities by applying its
core technologies and leads to other clinical indications in
regenerative medicine such as osteoporosis.

ProChon offers multiple partnering, licensing and business
opportunities for developing and commercializing its novel
therapeutics.
