The TEGRITY WebLearner platform provides an integrated software
solution for online content creation and delivery, addressing the
simplicity needs of educators required to create the content,
flexible distribution options for institutions to serve it, and
effective content for their learners.
Create - TEGRITY's patented WebLearner Studio encoding software,
running on off-the-shelf computer and audio/visual components
placed on a mobile cart, provides a computer-vision-based method
for automatically converting an instructor's teaching into
engaging and effective online content. A single instructor,
using a convenient virtual touch panel and familiar teaching
tools like PowerPoint slides, regular whiteboard markers and
laser pointer, can generate Web-based presentations with minimal
training and effort. The resulting modules can be easily uploaded
to the streaming server, or may be licensed to distribute via
download or CD-ROM.
Serve - WebLearner server software enables synchronous or
asynchronous streaming of WebLearner-format content, and can be
installed on the customer's own server or at TEGRITYOnline, an
optional ASP service. Concurrent Client Access Licenses are
purchased according to customer's needs.
Learn - TEGRITY's browser-based and plug-in free client enables
online viewing on a PC or Mac, with convenient navigation and
bandwidth options from 28.8K to broadband. Going beyond standard
web presentations consisting of only narrated PowerPoint slides,
WebLearner-generated modules include many unique features that
significantly increase the online learner's attention span:
* Moving pointer created automatically from the instructor's
laser pointing on projected slides
* Instructor writing and drawing synchronized with voice audio
* Recordings of real time application demonstrations integrated
with the rest of the presentation
* Automatically generated indexing and links to online resources.
