focusing on two areas: Orthodontics (the OrthoCAD service) and
Crowns and Bridges (C&B). CADENT's services improve patient care
and increase the earning capacity of the dental professionals.
CADENT has developed the perfect substitute for stone models -
the OrthoCAD 3D digital model service. To use the service,
offices simply overnight impressions and wax-bites to a service
center. Within less than a week, high-quality 3D models are
downloaded automatically via the Internet. The offices can than
use the free OrthoCAD 3D browser to view, store, present and
diagnose cases off their computer screens.
Special attention was placed on preserving the special "look" and
"feel" that have made plaster models so popular. The process
requires exactly the same type of materials and procedures
employed by offices today. The 3D browser is user-friendly and
simple to operate.
CADENT is developing the EID (Electronic Impression Device) a
state-of-the art intra-oral scanner allowing the dentist to
digitally capture the preparation topology. The data can than be
electronically transmitted and utilized by dedicated CAM milling
stations (already in use) to automatically produce the
crown/bridge.
