BIOSIGHT was established in 1999 to commercialize the ability of
its leading scientific team to identify novel disease-specific
Cell Surface Markers and create the first bioinformatic bank of
"disease and tissue-specific" combinatorial leads. BIOSIGHT's
discoveries have lead to the development of a novel and unifying
therapeutic strategy.
The Company is designing a pipeline of pro-drug guided vectors
that can target and release therapeutic drugs directly into
cancerous tumors, while significantly minimizing the side effects
currently associated with conventional chemotherapy treatments.
BIOSIGHT's mission is to create value through the development of
disease and tissue-specific pro-drug constructs for "disease
enabled drug delivery", with high efficacy and clean side-effect
profile, using its proprietary discoveries in the fields of
functional combinatorial chemistry and peptide synthesis.
BIOSIGHT's S2DOT technology redefines the way drugs are targeted
and delivered and offers a disease-modifying paradigm shift for
the treatment of a wide scope of disorders in which disease
specific cell membrane markers are over-expressed. BIOSIGHT aims
to improve or enable the next generation of cancer therapies by
facilitating cell specific homing peptides thus providing high
selectivity, increased efficacy at lower doses, decreased
toxicity and diminished side-effects to the normal healthy tissue
BST105, BIOSIGHT's lead product, is a breast cancer specific and
Chemotherapy based pro-drug. BST105 is presently undergoing
intensive pre-clinical studies in animal models of highly
aggressive metastatic human breast cancer. Animal studies have
demonstrated that BST105 is highly efficacious with reduced
toxicity and clean side effects. BST 105 was found to be high
selective, exhibiting high solubility, in-vivo stability, low
toxicity and significant reduction in drug-induced cytotoxicity -
with no systemic side effects. Studies of BST105 in mice showed
significant inhibition of tumor progression in comparison to the
free drug, with 50% of the tumors undergoing remission.
BIOSIGHT's core knowledge and infrastructure is used to provide
custom services in peptide and combinatorial chemistry
manufacturing and analytical services, to customers in the
biotechnology industry and academic institutions.
