company engaged in the development of novel targeted therapies
for hematological cancer applications. The company is focusing on
the development of a new non-chemotherapy drug, TKS 505, for the
treatment of hematological malignancies where there is a high,
unmet medical need. Originally approved by the FDA for acute
hypertension, this small molecule drug was shown to be effective
in several leukemia and lymphoma cancer models. TK's leading
product will be entering patient clinical trials in 2008.
Prior to the clinical study, TK is conducting an exploratory
ex-vivo study which will enable the clinician to create a
personalized therapy program using TKS 505 for patients in the
phase I/II clinical study with a greater chance of success.
Advancing this drug through development to the patient is
accelerated by both the company's repositioning strategy under
FDA 505(b) (2) submission path and our ex-vivo testing program.
Prior to acquiring TKS505, the company focused on the development
of a proprietary set of radiopharmaceuticals allowing molecular
imaging of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) positive
tumors in Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. TK-SIGNAL LTD. licensed
an option to commercialize these targeted radiopharmaceuticals,
including additional novel radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosing,
monitoring and treatment of cancer.
