CHIASMA's Technology
CHIASMA's proprietary Transient Permeability Enhancer (TPE) drug
delivery platform utilizes a unique combination of common
pharmaceutical ingredients that enables impermeable molecules to
cross the intestinal wall by transiently unzipping the tight
junctions that hold together adjacent epithelial cells.
Platform Potential: TPE platform is a platform technology
applicable to a broad range of large and small impermeable
molecules. So far, the technology has been tested with various
proteins, peptides and polysaccharides, consistently yielding
10-30% bioavailability with different drug molecules.
Furthermore, platform performance is consistent across
preclinical species (rats & pigs) suggesting similar performance
in future human studies.
