delivery particularly when dealing with diseases such as brain
tumors, neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer's disease,
Parkinson's disease) and neuro-metabolic disorders
BrainsGate's proprietary technology involves modulation of
cerebrovascular properties - blood vessel permeability and blood
flow - central to many CNS disorders. BrainsGate technology is
targeted at major unmet needs in the fields of neuro-oncology
(primary and metastatic brain tumors), neuro degenerative
disorders (e.g. Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular Dementia,
Parkinson's Disease) and cerebrovascular disorders (e.g. cerebral
vasospasm following hemorrhagic stroke). The Company intends to
commence clinical trials in 2005, delivering a chemotherapeutic
agent to primary brain tumor patients.
