I.M.I's Ammunition Group is world renowned for its innovations in
advanced tank, artillery, mortar and aerial ammunition, as well
as rifle grenades and non-lethal ordnance.
The Ammunition Group's success is the product both of hard-won

I.M.I. designs do not rest on theory alone. Decades of battle
experience have taught I.M.I's ammunitions experts to put a
premium on combining state-of-the-art approaches in order to
create advanced weapons that work, are easily integrated into
existing battle plans, and provide the best possible value for
money. Almost all of the ammunition development programs are
products of operational requirements of the Israel Defence Force,
I.D.F. as well as most of the Ammunition Group's engineers served
in similar tasks in the I.D.F. and thus obtain both operational
and scientific experience.
The Central Laboratory is the R&D center of the Ammunition Group.
This is where creative ideas are conceived, based on rich
experience, cutting edge knowledge and originality.
The Central Laboratory covers all the development stages, from
analyzing the idea through checking its feasibility, to the
full-scale development. Furthermore, the lab is responsible for
the production of the first lot, and delivery to the customer.
Ammunition Group designs are based on sophisticated computer
models created together with I.M.I's Central Laboratory.
Simulations of all imaginable conditions provide a realistic
assessment of the products that will make the critical difference
on the battlefield of tomorrow.
The Central Laboratory is uniquely positioned to enter into joint
R&D and other co-operative ventures with defense manufacturers of
international stature and with Government research organizations.
