Prof. Noam Gavriely to develop, validate, produce and market
devices for the emergent treatment of critical patients. Based on
the founder's years of experience in emergency medicine and
physiology the company develops new devices for treatment of
hypovolemic shock, inta-abdominal bleeding and pelvis trauma, as
well as novel methods for artificial ventilation and airway
management in acute respiratory failure.
OHK MEDICAL DEVICES LTD. is developing devices that extend the
'golden window' for emergency treatment of acute severe trauma
and non-trauma life threatening injuries. The Company's focus is
on devices that are specifically intended for the treatment of
mass casualty situations, including both military and civilian
circumstances. The devices are designed for use by minimally
trained personnel and for broad distribution in all levels of
medical and paramedical life support applications.
PRODUCTS:
* Auto-Transfusion Tourniquet (ATT) - is an elastic light-weight
'low tech' device that, when applied to a limb, compresses the
tissues and expells the blood into the central circulation. It
also prevents the blood from re-entering the limb.
* Abdominal & Pelvic Clamping Device (APCD) - a mechanical
clamping device for the emergency treatment of intra abdominal
bleeding and/or pelvic fracture. The APCD applies controlled
counter pressure to the abdomine and stabilizes the pelvis. The
pressure that the APCD applies is intended to tamponade
intra-abdominal bleeding for the duration until a definitive
hemostasis procedure can be established.
* S-MART- a NEW tool for expelling the blood from a limb and
preventing its re-entry in a single QUICK and SIMPLE action (less
than 12 seconds). The rolling elastic ring squeezes the blood
away and blocks the arterial flow into the limb. The tubular
sleeve compensates for the natural taper of human limbs to
facilitate pressure uniformity along the limb. The sleeve also
doubles as a component in the draping of the surgical field.
