INFLAMET presents a peripheral blood slide and image analysis as
a new diagnostic concept to reveal inflammation intensity. The
results are summarized in a form that contains nine images of the
slide and different variable s obtained for both erythrocytes and
leukocytes. The results can be rapidly transmitted through the
Internet within a few minutes.
Infection/inflammation is associated with the appearance of an
acute phase response during which proteins are synthesized.
Cellular activation contributes to the appearance of increased
cell adhesiveness/aggregation in the peripheral blood. The
intention of INFLAMET LTD. is to quantitate the degree of this
enhanced stickiness; the more cell adhesiveness/aggregation, the
more intense is the inflammatory response and vice versa. In a
series of publications, the scientists of INFLAMET LTD. have
shown that it is feasible to use this diagnostic principle in
clinical practice. Active research is performed to promote the
potential future use of this novel technology as a bedside low
cost and real time diagnostic modality.
