MEDIHALE has developed a "platform technology" and a reliable,
small, mechanical inhalation device that will solve safety
problems and environmental damage, while clinically give the same
good results or even better results than the electro-mechanic
nebulizers and CFC based metered dose inhalers available today.
Mechanically generated air-pressure will cause aerosol flow of
the desired medicine to the patient. A disposable capsule will
contain exactly the needed dose amount, and enable the separate
storage of several liquids or powders, which will be mixed only a
short time before use. Forced air is the only propellant used, no
alien gas participates in the inhaling process. The device will
allow another person to activate towards the patient, without any
active action from the patient, but natural breathing. This
feature is a great comfort to parents who treat small children
and infants. The device does not contain any electrical parts,
which may cause electrical hazard to the patient. The light-
weight device and its small size, will allow the user to
comfortably carry it anywhere.
These features contribute a great deal to the user:
** SAFETY - No more drug-concentration mistakes, no more
medication- type mistakes. No more alien gas in the inhaled
aerosol. No more electrical hazards.
** COMFORT - One action of inserting a capsule, instead of liquid
extraction (using a syringe) from one or more bottles, into the
nebulizer chamber. No dependency on external power sources - the
power source is available at any time! The built-in mask is
easily unfolded before use and easily folded after. No need for
after use cleaning of tubes and device.
** COST- EFFECTIVE - Expiry date for drug after the bottle is
open is usually 30 to 90 days. In many cases most of the bottles
are thrown away after expiry date. The use of capsule with the
exact amount saves drug waste. The lack of batteries saves the
batteries cost. The device gives the user an excellent profit to
cost ratio!!
** ENVIRONMENT - The disposable capsule can be made of "Green
Materials" (i.e. recycled materials). No drugs are flushed into
the water resources and no alien gas is released into the air.
** FRIENDLY- No patient cooperation is needed for successful drug
delivery.
