The Company has completed a working model of its first
rehabilitation device, the "Orthodynamic Rehabilitator (OR)". The
OR is a compact, portable computer-controlled diagnostic,
measurement and rehabilitative device for use by hospitals and
rehabilitation clinics on patients with upper limb injuries and
disabilities. A follow-on device, the "Home Clinic" OR, is a
compact, portable tele-medicine device that will enable
individuals to perform prescribed rehabilitation therapy routines
at home under supervision and measurement by a caregiver in a
remote location. Utilizing its proprietary Artificial Muscle
technology, MUSCLE TECH is developing an "Assistive Sleeve" for
muscle-impaired individuals. Wearing the Sleeve on the impaired
limb will enable disabled persons to perform daily functions such
as getting dressed, picking up a telephone, opening doors or
drinking from a cup.
The Orthodynamic Rehabilitator (OR) is a compact and portable
non-invasive, robotic, computer-controlled exo-skeleton device
that uses hydraulic power for `actuation' (i.e. linear motoring)
to provide measurable `force resistance' and repetitive exercise
for neurological, neuromuscular or musculoskeletal impairments.
The "Home Clinic" OR is a computerized, program-driven
tele-medicine device, that enables patients to perform prescribed
therapy routines at home under supervision of a caretaker
situated in a remote location. The Assistive Sleeve is a robotic
device worn on a disabled limb, which extends the user's range of
movement and amplifies his/her muscle power by utilizing MUSCLE
TECH's proprietary artificial muscle technology. The Sleeve will
facilitate precise and controlled movement of a damaged or
disabled limb for performance of routine daily functions. MUSCLE
TECH's artificial muscle technology is a platform technology that
utilizes a proprietary hydraulic structure to achieve extremely
high power-to-weight and power-to-size ratio capabilities both
for pushing and pulling.
