AMOS-2 satellites co-located at 4øW, offering a wide range of
communications and broadcasting services in Europe, the Middle
East, and across the Atlantic Ocean connecting the US East Coast
to the Middle East and Europe.
AMOS-1 was launched in May 1996 and is scheduled to provide
services until mid 2008. AMOS-2, launched in December 2003, is
co-located with AMOS-1 at 4øW and has a planned life time until
2016.
Spacecom provides broadcasting and communications services to TV
broadcasters and programmers, DBS operators, government
organizations, private VSAT networks and others. The AMOS-1 and
AMOS-2 satellites are creating a "Hot Spot" at 4øW orbital
location, both for Central Eastern Europe, as well as for the
Middle East, where the AMOS satellites' transmissions are
received by most of the cable head-ends (serving customers such
as HBO for its European cable services, Antenna-Hungaria,
Telespazio, YES, BOOM and many more).
Spacecom is a public company traded on the Tel-Aviv stock
exchange. Its major shareholders are Eurocom, Israel Aerospace
Industries (IAI), General Satellite Services Co. (GSSC) and Mer
Services Group.
Spacecom offers a variety of value added services for customers
of its AMOS satellites, including DBS/ DT H services, Video,
Audio and Data distribution, Broadband Internet via satellite,
Uplink services, as well as End-to-End tailored solutions. The
co-location of the AMOS satellites enables full back-up
capabilities over the Middle East and Europe .
The AMOS satellites offer the best performance over Central
Eastern Europe and the Middle East, delivering superior G/T and
EIRP, with more than 57dBW EIRP and 14dBK G/T. The AMOS
satellites' orbital position (4ø West) also provides an excellent
look-angle over its coverage area, allowing for high elevation
angles in remote terminals throughout the region.
The high performance AMOS satellites, and their strategic orbital
position, enable the reception of DTH TV over the smallest
antennas throughout the Middle East and Central Eastern Europe,
as well as 2-way communications delivering the highest bit-rates,
in remote locations, where terminals are limited in size, power,
and sometimes require mobility.
