cell therapy cures for neural degenerative diseases (Parkinson's,
ALS, multiple sclerosis) based on a platform of neural cells
derived from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs). The company's
first product is dopaminergic neural progenitor cells for
Parkinson's disease. Development is in the pre-clinical stage and
is currently at the stage of testing research grade cells in a
rat model of Parkinson's disease, which will be followed by
testing in a monkey model leading to clinical studies. Work on
the scaling up of cell production is also beginning.

cell therapy preparation that when injected into the brain of

Reubinoff and his team and are covered by several patent
applications. The fields of interest are the ability of human
embryonic stem cells to differentiate into nerve cells, methods
to derive and culture neural progenitors from human ES cells and
techniques for directing the neural progenitors into dopaminergic
neurons. ES Cell International is the owner of the patent
applications.
CELL CURE appears to be the only company totally focused on
developing GMP quality dopaminergic neurons from GMP quality hES
lines for Parkinson's disease treatments. The hES approach also
appears to have a significant technical and commercial edge over
the approaches of its competitors.
