Marine - small boats and yachts, panels and accessories. Construction - internal walls, architectural elements. Medical equipment - C.T and M.R.I structural elements.
composite materials for use in a wide variety of industries.
ESCOM's designed materials can have strength-to-weight
characteristics similar to those of the strongest materials
currently used, with the added advantage of design flexibility,
which allows for parts that have three-dimensional strength
oriented in the areas and directions required by the customer.
A second field of ESCOM operation is energy absorbing materials.
ESCOM's Technology
* ESCOM developed a mathematical tool for analyzing the
customer's requirements.
* With results obtained, a 3D knitted grid is designed.
* The grid is strength oriented as required in x,y,z directions.
* Using a low pressure mold the face sheets are produced.
* The grid with or without additional foam (5-15% of weight) is
placed between two face sheets inside the mold.
* The result is an optimized finished part produced in one mold.
Advantages:
* Light and strong.
* Optimization of strength in specific directions.
* Freedom of design in complex shapes.
* Wide range of different materials to choose.
* Recyclable (in case the fibers and skins are the same
material).
* The more complex the shape, the more cost effective the
product.
* Low pressure molding technology is used - low to moderate
tooling investment.
Applications:
* Automotive - parts and bodies.
* Aerospace - parts and accessories.
* Trains and transport - Body panels, front and rear end for
locomotives busses and trucks.
* Marine - small boats and yachts, panels and accessories.
* Construction - internal walls, architectural elements.
* Medical equipment - C.T and M.R.I structural elements.
* Sports safety equipment - helmets and safety wear.
Projects in progress:
* Light double train frame seat. Saves up to 1.5 T for wagon.
* Rear Back Seat for Passenger Car with energy absorbing cushion.
* Base Plate for Military Product
* Energy absorbing brackets for front fenders - Passenger car.
* Energy absorbing shield for ballistic ceramic plates.
* Light and strong medical sliding bench for C.T device.
* Light and strong frame for military armored vehicles.
* Medical mattress and devices for pressure sours relief.
* Shielding vests and helmets for Sports Hazard protection.
Household electrical appliances: washing machine elements,
dishwasher elements, refrigerator elements, air conditioner
casings.
