disinfection based on ozone and UV. AQUAPURE offers a different
solution from the one currently available in the market. It
brings the water directly to where it is exposed to the ozone and
the UV light, in contrast to common Ozonation methods in which
the oxidizing materials are produced in one place and applied to
the water in another place. This new technique has many
advantages. It reduces the costs of cooling the electrode greatly
and decreases the reliance on air quality at entry (e.g. air
humidity). It also exposes pollutants directly to the oxidizing
materials and thus requires less mixing of ozone in the water.
Finally, it allows greater flexibility, such as easy adaptation
to diverse water qualities at entry.
The equipment market for this industry is expected to reach US$
33B in 2005. Ozonation technology is a big and fast growing part
of the market (12.6% a year), in some portions of the industry it
is already over 50%. The use of ozone to treat contaminated water
is one of the leading technologies today because it is a clean,
environmental friendly and safe way to deal with one of today's
most urgent issues.
AQUAPURE's technology is expected to revolutionize the ozone
based water treatment market and to make it even more widespread.
