Founded in 2004, as a spin-off the Technion, the Israeli
Institute of technology of Haifa, Israel, PML is a high-tech
start-up company. PML - Particle-Monitoring technologies Ltd.,
has developed technology and system that are based upon a
unique structured non-Gaussian, "dark" laser beam, interacting
with the particles.
The technology enables automatic, continuous, in-process
monitoring of particle sizes (including nano-particles!) and
concentrations, in water before and after filtration.
The system also automatically differentiates between particles
categories, such as clay, carbon, algae, germs, parasites,
submicron viruses and more, according to their optical
properties, by employing artificial intelligence tools on the
laser-particle interaction signal.
The system is compact; offers high sensitivity and resolution in
a wide particle size and concentration range.
PML is a nanotechnology company. PML makes part of a European
Consortium that runs a project that aims at developing an on-line
gas phase nano-particle measurement tool that can be used for
various manufacturing processes in the nano-technology domain.
Specifically, within that Consortium, named, NANOPRIM, the
particle sizing measurement apparatus will be designed, developed
and then integrated into a unique nanoparticle deposition process
of nanocrystalline layers for the fabrication of novel catalytic
sensors.
The Company`s products will enable manufacturers to improve
control and save energy by replacing the time-consuming and less
reliable laboratory sampling with automated particle size
analyzers. Target initial markets are Cement, Pharmaceutics and
Clean-Tech.
