CorAssist is a Pre-clinical stage medical device company
committed to developing innovative therapeutic products for
treating diastolic heart failure. The company's proprietary
technology enables the first implantation of a device that
directly improves cardiac diastolic function.
The company's first product, the ImCardia, is an elastic
self-expanding device that is attached to the external left
ventricular surface, through a simple off-pump closed heart
procedure. The device assists diastolic function through
reduction of filling pressures, and does not require an external
power source.
The CorAssist technology enables the reduction of filling
pressure in the left ventricle, thus reducing the pressures
within the left atrium and the pulmonary vasculature and
preventing pulmonary congestion and edema.
The company has completed early pre clinical studies, proving
safety and efficacy of the ImCardia, and is currently focused on
preparation for clinical studies.
