Overview

ACUITY LTD. is a medical device company that develops and
manufactures the C-WELL accommodative intraocular lens (IOL)
implant. The C-WELL IOL mimics the eye's natural accommodative
capabilities to focus on distant, middle and near objects -
eliminating the need for eyeglasses after cataract surgery.
The unique C-WELL design is based on a proprietary lever system
that offers the maximum accommodation to restore the full range
of functional vision.

The C-Well accommodative intraocular lens mimics nature's
accommodative power to restore clear, sharp vision after cataract
surgery with no need for reading glasses.
The C-Well accommodative intraocular lens is implanted using the
same surgical procedure as with conventional intraocular lenses.
But it delivers much more.

The C-Well haptics, or fixation arms that keep it in place in the
lens capsule, pivot to allow the lens optic to move forwards and
backwards in the capsule - in direct response to the natural
muscle stimulation of the eye's focusing mechanism. This closely
mimics the accommodation of the natural lens. Actual movement
forward and backward delivers the same results as changes in the
curvature that occur in a young, healthy eye.

The unique design of the C-Well is based on a robust lever system
that produces motion along the optical axis. The amount of
accommodation is in direct correlation to the size of the lever.
The C-Well lever arm is of maximum length so that the highest
levels of accommodation are achieved. And with the C-Well there
is no deformation of the lens optic itself. Therefore the risk of
induced astigmatism declines significantly.
