medical devices company which is in the early stages of
developing revolutionary orthopedic devices for the spine market.
The proposed system is an implant for the posterior flexible
spine stabilization, which is designed to support or substitute a
part of the patient's spine while preserving all natural
movements of the spinal column without changing the load pattern
on the adjacent vertebrae. The proposed system is designed for
the posterior disc replacement and should imitate the natural
mobility and the load transfer mechanism observed in a healthy
spine.
The uniqueness of the system is, that the system posses the
viscoelastic properties - like a natural disc has, which allows
to preserve the motion of natural spine, while adjusting its
mechanical properties for patient's body during a defined time
after surgery, with controllable movements around or along
different axes.
The FlexSIS System
* stabilizes but does not fuse the spine;
* maintains range of motion;
* reduces or prevents the development of adjacent segment
degeneration.
