PROJECT SUMMARY
The development of the following types of plastic surgery
equipment is planned:
* An adjustable, low-cost, disposable preparation razor and
dermatome (skin graft scalpel) for small plastic surgery.
* A low powered dermatome for skin harvest as well as debridement
and deepithelialization for large plastic surgery,
ergonometrically designed.
* A powered broad mesher for skin graft.

APPLICATIONS
* The disposable dermatome will be used in operation rooms,
emergency wards and clinics. It is designed for shaving the skin
as preparation for medical surgery, and for accurate thickness
skin split (tangential excision).
* The powered dermatome will be used in operation rooms. It
enables the surgeon to take skin graft quickly, conveniently and
safely.
* The powered broad mesher provides the surgeon with the means to
set the expansion ratio of the mesher as necessary, to operate
the mesher effortlessly and to graft skin effectively.

* Improved performance, accurate skin grafting, combining all the
meshing ratios in one single drum. Shaving long hair and bristles
without clogging the blade.

MARKET
Target market segments include plastic surgery departments in
hospitals and clinics and emergency wards.

PROJECT STATUS
The development period within the framework of the technological
incubator is over. Since November 1997 L.R. operates
independently as a start-up company. Several disposal plastic and
metal pre-razor and dermatome prototypes have been built and
clinically tested. The low-powered dermatome has also been built
and is being tested. The second powered mesher prototype has been
built, completely tested and started first commercial sells.

INVESTMENT
/COOPERATION REQUIRED
A strategic partner/investor is sought, to provide support in the
transfer from the development stage to commercialization.
Expertise and capabilities in marketing and/or in production are
sought.
